Development Proposals

Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council has identified land between Higham Lane and Weddington as providing in the region of 1750 houses including a proportion of affordable homes. The scheme will include investment in supporting infrastructure including the local road network, primary and secondary schools, a local centre, a multifunctional community hall, and an extensive network of green space, footpaths and cycleways that will be accessible for the community to use and enjoy.

The scheme will also support the regeneration of the town centre and local facilities through additional population and a package of measures to be agreed with the Council.

The development proposals are currently developed by Amec Foster Wheeler in association with Warwickshire County Council. A number of technical investigations, looking at traffic and sustainable transport, archaeology, land quality, ecology, flooding and drainage, noise, air quality and utilities are being undertaken to inform the development proposals.

The results from these investigations, and feedback received through consultation with stakeholders and local residents will be used to develop the development proposals further.
